How to get started: Book a Paint health evaluation appointment
We require that every vehicle wishing to have scratch or swirl marks removed from the paint undergo a paint health evaluation. A paint health evaluation is a scheduled appointment, free of charge, where we will measure and provide a comprehensive report for the thickness ( measured in microns µm) of the paint on your vehicle. This is done on each body panel, to determine how much paint is available to work with so we can determine which level of paint correction is appropriate for the vehicle and set realistic goals. Generally speaking, the thicker the paint is, the more options will be available to remove scratch or swirl marks.
The following packages indicate the three levels of paint correction we provide:
Cut rating refers to how much clear coat will be “cut”, (in microns µm), to create a level surface and remove microscopic indentations in the paint that cause scratch or swirl marks to be visible.
Paint enhancement → a goal of
50% defect removal starting @ 300$
Includes an exterior detail package to first decontaminate the paint, then a single polishing only compound, with light cut rating, being run over the vehicle’s entire surface by a dual action polisher machine .
1 Stage paint correction → a goal of 75% defect removal starting @ 600$
Includes an exterior detail package to first decontaminate the paint, then a single all-in-one cut and polishing compound, with medium cut rating, being run over the vehicle’s entire surface by a dual action polisher machine.
2-3 Stage paint correction → a goal of 90% defect removal starting @ 1000$
(requires a minimum paint thickness of 35 microns µm)
Includes an exterior detail package to first decontaminate the paint, then two to three separate chemicals or techniques. This can include wet sanding, and/or a cutting compound, then a separate polishing compound, being run over the vehicle’s entire surface by a dual action polisher machine. This achieves the highest cut rating possible.
Please note: If the vehicle has scratches or swirls present that are deep enough to extend beyond the clearcoat we cannot fix this even with our highest cut rated 2-Stage process. Any area in this condition will require a new paint job to return to factory quality. We will inform you of any problem areas like this if they exist during a paint health evaluation appointment.
